June 2022 Newsletter

Grace, mercy, and peace are yours through our Lord and Savior Jesus!

Dear Family of God at Grace,

June is a very busy month for everyone here at Grace.  We have our Summer Interns being installed and getting started on Sunday the 12th.  Please make every effort to greet and welcome our new Interns.  It will be great having them here for the summer to learn from us and to add to what we do here at Grace.  May God bless them and us through this summer experience!

VBS is the week of 13th – 17th which will be a blast for kids and adults alike.  Our DCE Intern has been working hard preparing for a smooth and enjoyable VBS.

The 16th – 18th Chris Mogelvang and I will be at the Florida/ Georgia District Convention.  The vote for president will be on the Thursday the 16th.  I will have Lori post on the Grace Facebook page the results as soon as I know.  Pray to the Lord for…well however you want this to go.  May God’s will be done!  Chris and I will be voting on many overtures that have been brought to the district for vote.  Many of these items, if passed, will be part of our constitution and by-laws at the district level.  Pray for us that we use our vote prudent and wisely, for God’s glory and our good!

Monday the 20th at 2pm is the funeral for Harold Ross.  Our dear brother Harold was a member at Grace for many years!  Harold had a good and blessed long life.  He has been homebound for the last few years.  All that is over now.  He rests in the arms of Jesus.  We will celebrate the blessed gift that Jesus gave to Harold in his baptism that led him from this vale of tears to the joys of eternal life in heaven.

Directly after the funeral I fly out to Fort Wayne for my intensive week in the class: Teaching the Confessions, for my continuing education.  If you need any care, please call the office and pastor Eisold or one of our circuit pastors will bring aid to you while I’m away.

I don’t know what’s happening the last week of June but I’m sure there will be things to do.  There are always things to do at Grace and that is a true blessing.

While I was writing this letter, I had a visit from Rev. Jay and Julie Dass, our missionaries from Pakistan.  It was so good to see them.  Rev Jay will be filling in for me on Sunday 10th at both services.  I will be with our youth at the National Youth Gathering of our LCMS.  Thank you to Jay for filling in while he is here in the USA.

I’ll end this letter with a plea for prayer.  We have many people in our congregation and connected to our congregation that need prayer.  There are many and you can see the names on our Prayer Chain.  An example is Angie Davenport, Greg’s sister.  She has had a cancerous tumor removed and will go through multiple chemo treatments.  She needs our prayers!  Please remember our nation in your prayers.  Please pray for those who struggle with gender dysphoria and are believing the lie that they are not the sex/gender that they were born.  All these things that we pray for are a result of this sinful world we live in.  The answer to our prayers and all for whom we pray is Jesus!  May Jesus bring healing, strength, and clarity to our fallen humanity and world.  Amen!

In His Service,

Pastor Lingsch
