July 2022 Newsletter

Dear Family of God at Grace,

A blessed July to you all! We have celebrated our 246th Birthday as a nation and I hope you had a great Independence Day celebration with family, food, and fireworks! Nothing says, “Happy Birthday USA” like hotdogs and high explosives! I had the opportunity to celebrate at the Naples Sailing and Yacht Club.  I started my morning with an opening prayer and some remarks about our blessed independence and then I closed the evening with another prayer and remarks about being “One Nation Under God.” Then had a wonderful meal at the club and watched the fireworks. It was wonderful. Thank you to the Borchelt’s for including me in the program! Let me conclude this thought with this; A crazy lunatic cannot divide us as one nation under God. The shooter in Chicago is a disturbed young man and he cannot divide us! God bless the families who lost loved ones and may God be with the injured! May He bring peace and healing as only God can in the Highland Park Community and around our Nation.

As I am writing you, we are preparing to head off to Huston TX for the National Youth Gathering of our Lutheran Church. We are expecting around 20,000 youth, which is down from the usual amount because of Covid. I’m sure it will be an absolute blast! Please keep us in your prayers as we travel! Pray that we are united as a group and that memories are made that will last a lifetime. See you when we get back.

This Sunday you are in for a treat. Rev Jay Dass and his wonderful wife Julie will be serving you in my absence. Jay is a very good preacher, and he will give you Jesus! Please come and hear about what is happening in Pakistan. This is the most exciting mission in our church body.

We are into the summer now and it is quiet at Grace. Many of you are traveling. Please know that we are praying for you. Remember that during your travels that you find a church to worship in on Sundays. You may be on vacation but not from church so find a place to hear the Word and be with Jesus!

In the August letter I will get you caught up on the school proposal and on some other exciting news at Grace. May the Lord bless and keep you until then!

In His Service,

Pastor Lingsch
